"Error: Rolling back action. Installation interrupted" or "Error 1920: Service 'Intuit QuickBooks FCS' (QBFCService) failed to start" What is happening When attempting to install QuickBooks, one of the following messages is returned: * Error: Rolling back action. Installation interrupted. * Error 1920: Service Intuit QuickBooks FCS (QBFCService) failed to start. Note: If QuickBooks release version R1 is being installed, the error message may only display "Rolling back action followed by installation interrupted." The messages may also occur when attempting to email a form. Why is this happening * This message can occur when QuickBooks is installed on a computer that has an error in its Internet connection configuration, is installed on top of an older version that may have damage, or when the installation is being blocked by Iolo(R) System Mechanic(R). * This message can also occur when QuickBooks is installed using a non-Admin user. * This error can also occur when a Hewlett Packard printer utility prevents QuickBooks from installing the QuickBooks PDF Converter. If this error occurs during installation, click OK to bypass the error message and QuickBooks will finish installing. The QuickBooks PDF Converter, however, will not be installed. * This error can also occur when another QuickBooks version of the same year was previously installed. Example: QuickBooks Pro 2007, and upgrading to QuickBooks Premier 2007. How to fix the problem Disable Windows firewall and reinstall the software |
